Who makes it and how it stays free

About the fight

Sucker Punchline is an independent, original party game made in 2026: a free way to play a write-the-funniest-answer game on a TV with everyone's phones, without anyone buying anything first.

Who makes it

Sucker Punchline is made and run by Zena Labs LLC, a small independent software company in California. Write to us at Zena Labs LLC, 490 Post St, Ste 500 PMB 2077, San Francisco, CA 94102.

What is ours

Everything in the game was made for it:

  • The rules: head-to-head bouts, knockouts, a crowd that counts as one voter, the Main Event with three punches, and AI fighters for small groups. How to play.
  • The prompts: 274 originals, drafted with AI writing tools, scored by separate AI critics and cut hard. Read a sample.
  • The look and sound: the fight-poster art, the twelve fighters, the music, the ring announcer Duke Decibel and the voices that read answers, made with generative art, music and voice tools and edited for this game.

How it stays free

The game runs in a web browser, on a small server we already operate, and it reads answers aloud with a voice model running on our own server, so a game costs us close to nothing. There are no ads, nothing to buy, and no data to sell. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

Not affiliated with Jackbox Games

Sucker Punchline is a game in the same party style as Quiplash, but it is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Jackbox Games, Inc. Jackbox and Quiplash are names of their products, used on this site only to describe and compare, never with their logos or art. Our comparison pages cite a public source for every claim we make about them: Jackbox alternative and Quiplash alternative.

Privacy in one paragraph

No accounts and no ads. Names and answers live in the game server's memory while the room is open. When answers are read aloud, the text of each spoken line (answers, and players' names when they join) goes to our own voice server, which keeps it in a log for up to 30 days, or to Google's speech service as a backup. You can turn reading off on the TV. Full privacy page.
